  1. 2015 Build an apparel training sector that supports the industry as it develops
    - Communications Language training
    - Human Resources training
  2. 2016 - 2017 Training school Established in Yangon for vocational and middle-management training
  3. 2018 - 2019 Training schools around Myanmar and Near IZs
  4. 2020 - 2022 Fashion Institution (SOFT) established Merchandising, Design, and Fashion Marketing
  5. 2023 - 2024 First Design graduates from Myanmar Institute of Fashion Technology Industry supported by a fully responsive training sector
  6. Goal
    GOAL: 10 Billions Export Value with 1 Million Employment

In mid-2015, the MGMA introduced a long-term strategy for industrial growth & development in Myanmar’s garment sector. Developed in consultation with international brands, local garment factories and Myanmar trade union federations, the MGMA’s strategy is a guide for responsible sector development. The MGMA is convinced that high social compliance standards and an environmentally sustainable production base are essential elements to ensure the Myanmar’s burgeoning garment industry competes effectively on the global stage.
