In mid-2015, the MGMA introduced a long-term strategy for industrial growth & development in Myanmar’s garment sector. Developed in consultation with international brands, local garment factories and Myanmar trade union federations, the MGMA’s strategy is a guide¬†for responsible sector development. The MGMA is convinced that high social compliance standards and an environmentally sustainable production base are essential elements to ensure the¬†Myanmar’s burgeoning garment industry competes effectively on the global stage.
